The main character, Martin, is an innocent yet hugely popular DJ of EDM music. He finds himself in the middle of all kinds of intrigue concerning treasonous military plots of stolen nuclear codes and nefarious goings on involving organized crime, drug cartels, and an imminent alien invasion from outer space. He goes through this story believing he is in the middle of a mystifying Reality Show he has no control over.
Although he is the main character, he is not always the catalyst that drives the story forward until he is forced into action. It is the secondary characters that power the events while he is simply carried along, blithely unaware of what is truly going on and what impending catastrophes may unfold
Martin is a 21st century ‘Charlie Chaplin-like character’ surrounded by ongoing chaos created by an array of colorful and energetic human and extraterrestrial beings. Martin is bit like Chauncey Gardner, Peter Seller’s character in Being There. Martin’s passion is his music and his true love Sylvie, a beautiful, psychic mute. It is the threat to these two elements, music and love, that spur him into the action that transforms him from a lovable, naïve, talented millennial into a true hero.
Opening Image – Young, handsome Martin, renowned EDM DJ, is wearing an astronaught suit, holding his helmet. He is at an outdoor café in the pouring rain looking, as always, uncertain of exactly where he is. He looks up and says to everyone “See y'all when we get back from Mars.” He has always felt like he was from another planet but could never understand why. He suddenly wakes up at home and confused. As a struggling actor he thought ‘well this is just another audition for a new reality show called Duke and the Nukes'. The nukes had already exploded and now he was famous, he thought, and then he truly wakes completely up.
Set-up – Martin works at Club Be-Live and could always set his audience, that he called the Humanitrons, on fire with his EDM sets. Surrounded by models and poseurs, he pleased them all. He was DJ ‘Sons of X’. But was it all real? His beats were alchemical music—transmuting the other players in his audition and dancers before him. He felt compelled to procreate galactic genes that resonated in a forest of a crashing dream. He was a universal bridge between the present tense and the afterlife. This was Martin’s everyday world every night, hovering above the crowd as if in some strange metaphysical craft.
Sylvie, Martin’s girlfriend, is a telepathic mute. She is always by Martin’s side when things get out of hand, but she can’t separate reality from fantasy for him.
Xereans are a race of people from the planet Xeres, a frozen wasteland from which they must escape to a more hospitable planet to survive. It is from here that Martin’s parents (Gaia and Xenon) are from. Xenon, leader of the breakaway group, the Astrogens, plots to conquer the Earth by force while his estranged wife, Gaia, opposes him.
Gaia is the queen of all Xereans who, ages ago, had traveled to Earth and many other planets, seeding them with life and became known as ‘Gaia’ in Greek mythology – Mother of the Earth, Skies and Seas. In the present day, on Earth, she appears as Taya, a Russian model, secret agent, and code named – Blue Ice. How can she deflect Xenon from his plans?
Renai Toobey works for the CIA and it is he who gives Martin the assignment to save the world from a renegade nuclear threat, knowing full well that it was a fool’s errand given to Martin. Toobey feigns loyalty to Gaia but must answer to Xenon, who wants the Earth to self-destruct so his Astrogens can waltz in and take over.
Professor Merck Bogosity, Dean Emeritus and Doctor of History, is obsessed with discovering the Secret of the Vault hidden in the Superstition mountains. Unknown to him, the Vault contains the secret to immortality. It is the Photonic DNA Crystal, placed there by Gaia herself, eons ago, awaiting her return. Bogosity will stop at no treachery to achieve this knowledge.
General Klonedeister is the renegade U.S. Military Chief of Staff willing to sell America’s nuclear codes to the highest bidder in order to create a nuclear cataclysm and take over the country in the aftermath to create his version of ‘the New World Order. It is he that somehow Martin must oppose.
Hackers extraordinaire, Damon and Julian are Professor Bogosity’s students. It is they who secretly transfer the $5 billion into Klonedeister’s account after skimming $100 million for themselves. Their theft is discovered and they run for their lives.
President of the United States, Remington Bodacious, is an ineffectual figurehead president, and manipulated by his Joint Chief’s head General Klonedeister.
Theme Stated – Martin is never quite sure where reality begins or ends. The weight of his new responsibility, to try and foil this nuclear plot, is beyond him. It is a threat to all around him and somehow these diverse characters will inadvertently and often purposely support him all while in the seemingly psychedelic haze of the ever present EDM symphony. For Martin this is the best audition he’s ever been at. Can music and patriotism save the day?
Catalyst 1 – Martin is arrested for the murder of a South American gangster. It is this gangster who aided General Klonedeister in securing the sale of the Nuclear 'Supra Codes' to a major drug cartel. Martin is no longer a kid playing music in a club. He is a real player in this nuclear nightmare. He doesn’t know it yet but the only way to exonerate himself will be to foil Klonedeister’s plot which he will learn of later.
Catalyst 2 – Bogosity also learns of Klonedeister’s plot and reveals all to President Bodacious. With the President’s blessing to allow Bogosity to keep the money if he foils Klonedeister’s plot, the President also promises to destroy the cartel and eliminate any retribution against Bogosity. Admiral Annex McNab is assigned to protect and guide Bogosity. Bogosity quickly offers the hackers sanctuary and they secure the money for him to finance his quest for the secret of the Vault.
Debate – In jail, Martin insists on knowing who is the director of this latest audition. Am I going to pass?, he asks himself. The gargoyles and demons were everywhere and terrifying. Gaia knows that her son Martin must somehow be transformed into a universal soldier while remaining the innocent he is. Her only ally now is Sylvie, Martin’s girl.
Break into Two (Choosing Act Two) – Martin finally learns of Bogosity and Klonedeister’s plot and, convinced by Sylvie, realizes everything is up to him now to foil it.
B Story – With Sylvie’s loving help and guidance, Martin is now prepared to take action. His strength is his powerful ability through spinning EDM music to the masses and controlling their behavior.
The Promise of the Premise – Taya reveals to McNab the true power behind Klonedeister’s plot – Renaii Toobey, son and agent for Xenon from the alien world Xeres. She reveals that the nuclear detonations will be to bring the Earth to its knees and allow for easy colonization by the Xereans. McNab is astounded and realizes how much larger and dangerous the whole Klonedeister thing actually is. It is now that Martin’s role in communicating with the masses through his hypnotic EDM comes into focus.
Midpoint – McNab, Klonedeister, the President, and Toobey all meet in the Oval Office to try and figure out how to save the world from nuclear holocaust and an imminent alien invasion. The game has changed.
Bad Guys Close In – Renaii Toobey, secret son of Xenon and leader of the Xerean forces planning the invasion, returns to Xeres to meet with his father. Together they enter the council chamber of the 12 Darkdom Lords to finalize their invasion plans to take over the Earth after it has been crippled by nuclear holocaust.
All is Lost – Martin is overwhelmed by the enormity of the task fate has thrust upon him. How can a simple DJ ever do what has been asked of him? Could there really be an evil cabal of impossible conspirators? He hasn’t a clue. “Why me? We’re all dead fish.” He despairs.
Dark Night of the Soul – Admiral McNab is convinced that Martin, with his musical hold over the masses, is the only one that can save the situation. “The President needs you! America needs you” he declares to Martin. “It’s part of your audition!” Martin replies “will this help me get back my one true love?” “It will be your last audition.”
Break into Act Three – Convinced now that he must do this, Martin listens to McNab’s plan and decides, it’s now or never—for Sylvie and for America he agrees. He is to carry an innocent looking valise, loaded with super high explosives onto the Iridium, Skimmletoe’s private yacht where he, Klonedeister and Jose Carteleon are meeting to finalize the exchange giving the drug lord the 'Supra Codes' controlling the nukes. The valise will be detonated remotely once Martin is safely away. As he makes his way back to shore on the little Boston Whaler, he hears the tremendous explosion of the Iridium being blown all to hell and as he gazes at the growing fireball he declares “These are the greatest special effects I’ve ever seen. I have to get a part in this show.”
Finale – Back safely on shore and back home, he is besieged with congratulations and adoration with Sylvie by his side. He asks himself “why was I so confused? On Facebook I’m immortal". He prepares for a huge celebratory concert on the sands of South Beach with thousands to be in attendance. He is happy and back to doing what he knows best. Meanwhile Bogosity, assisted by Sylvie, makes the trek to Superstitious Mountain and the cave opening where inside they would find the DNA Crystal. It is here that Gaia, as Taya, makes her appearance and explains all to Bogosity. As he holds the Crystal in his own hands he realizes how wrong his path has been and is eager to make things right. Gaia leads the stunned Bogosity and Sylvie into her time warp craft and carries them and the DNA Crystal off to the EDM music festival on the beach, well underway by now.
Final Image – Tens of thousands have gathered and are dancing under Martin’s ‘Sons of X’ musical EDM spell. As sunset approaches. a strange craft appears above the crowd and descends onto the beach. The awed crowd falls silent and stop dancing as Gaia, Bogosity, and Sylvie step into view. As Gaia speaks to them all and explains her mission, Sylvie rushes up to Martin and with the gift of speech Gaia has given her declares ‘Martin I love you!” Police and military forces are gathering now as well but somehow remain entranced by Gaia’s presence and words. She invites the heads of both the military and police force leaders to come hold the DNA Crystal for themselves and both are stunned.
The Crystal has journeyed them in an unknown way and they have seen their own past and future and communicated directly with supposedly ‘dead’ loved ones. They shout to the crowd “IT IS TRUE, WE ARE ALL IMMORTAL!!” The crowd erupt in cheers just as Martin begins another very loud set with David Bowie’s ‘Let’s dance”
The crowd is dancing, Bogosity and all the other characters in the story are dancing, and even the military forces and police are dancing and because this whole thing has been live streamed around the world, spontaneous dancing erupts in cities everywhere. The planet is dancing…
The End
