. Duke and the Nukes is a multimedia novel that tells the story of DJ Martin, AKA DJ 'Sons of X'. He is chosen by the powers that be, because of his extraordinary musical gifts to communicate with the masses, to thwart an imminent nuclear threat. Martin is an 'Everyman' of the Z generation, whose life shifts seamlessly between reality and an imagined reality show. As a DJ he is renowned in the South Beach EDM dance music scene. His ability to entrance thousands of fans with his beguiling, heart thumping music as legions of young lovers and adventure seekers dance and sweat to his beat, while looking good... is unparalleled. It is the soul of the soundtrack to this movie as a background theme while the Extraterrestrials trying to manipulate our government and society are trying to control Martin's message from both up close and afar. Will they succeed?
Known to his friends as 'the Duke' he is an anti-hero who must prevent a military coup to save the world from nuclear holocaust in this zany crime thriller. One is never certain if anything occurs at all in real time, but we are always kept clinging to our seats until the finale which happens, or perchance doesn't happen. Only the audience can decide for themselves.

Although not simply a ‘Miami’ novel/movie, there are chapters and scenes set in South FL that, according to the author, are actually based on true people, places and events which have been fictionalized. The chapters contain a surrealistic landscape and hallucinatory imagery and stream-of-consciousness language that stretches the imagination. There are also witty, campy scenes and unconventional dialogue, with songs, and odd-ball eccentric characters. In the midst of all the craziness, an international plot to sell American Nuclear Secret Codes by top U.S. Military traitors is shadowed by a murder that has occurred. It must all be solved by the innocent and lovable Duke, DJ 'Sons of X'. He is the unwitting progeny of extraterrestrials looking to control the Earth for their own purposes using Martin's remarkable global popularity as a life changing DJ to millions of young people at all his shows.
It is an entertaining story that captures the reader and audience and holds them hostage for a delightful journey.
Intriguingly, early readers are asking “are we watching a TV reality show, studying metaphysical philosophy, playing a video game in our minds, or simply enjoying the unique novelty of an unfolding crime thriller?” The story is a zany spoof on everything modern about the Z generation, both a satire and a crime thriller all wrapped up in one crazy, clever, hilariously convoluted story
About Miami, Bell says “Everything seems Real down here except Reality", With a chuckle and a glimmer in his eye he says "It is like one enormous TV Reality show down here with the most outrageous people doing some of the most outrageous things.” “This story has everything,” explains Bell “It is fast paced, comedy, suspenseful and action packed,” “It has appeal to women as well as men, to all generations in addition to appealing to Generation Z.”
Mr. Bell’s observations are bearing daily fruit. In a time when publishing has seen a decline, critics predict that Bell will follow in the successful paths of a wide range of writers such as Carl Hiasson, Henry Miller, Tom Wolfe, Jean Cocteau, and William Burroughs, and Kurt Vonnegut all of whom were master storytellers.
Bell says he writes from his subconscious - "Each sentence burst forth like a volcano from my subconscious, each chapter created its own self", he says, "while the story lead me like a blind man on an unknown journey. "It was a hurricane I couldn’t control or know its final path. I was only the messenger" he says.
